Where does Alabama football’s kicker competition stand ahead of fall camp?

Conor Talty and Lorcan Quinn are expected to compete for the Alabama Crimson Tide’s starting kicker role throughout fall camp.

Talty started at kicker for the Tide throughout the 2025 season, and he had his fair share of ups and downs. He finished the season 16-of-23 on field goals, with a long of 48 yards. Quinn transferred to Alabama from Marshall. The transfer nailed 21 of his 26 field goals last season.

DeBoer updated the Tide’s kicker competition at SEC Media Days,

“Between Talty and Lorcan Quinn, I know we have talented players,” DeBoer said. ” Connor is an extremely talented player. He just, you know, consistency at times. And again, he made, I think, the harder kicks at times throughout the year, which shows his ability level and also his ability from a mental standpoint to recover. And now he’s just really honed in on making sure that he’s more consistent and steady. Lorcan has all the tools as well— distance, accuracy. He’s older. I can’t say he’s got more experience being in stadiums like he’s going to face in the SEC. I think that’s going to be something that he’ll have to work through. But both of them, I feel, have that ability. We’ll have one, a guy that can get the job done.”

Both kickers were rotated throughout A-Day.
