Alabama football’s freshman wide receiver and Alabama native Cederian Morgan represents what could be a bright future for the Crimson Tide at wide receiver.

The 6-foot-4 freshman signed with Alabama as one of the best wide receivers in the 2026 recruiting class. While he has not received a lot of targets this season, the freshman has been a sponge while learning from Ryan Coleman-Williams, Lotzeir Brooks and Rico Scott.

“Ryan is just a great person outside of football,” Morgan said during an interview with Roger Hoover on Thursday’s Crimson Drive. “Me and Ryan been knowing each other since I was probably a freshman through track, being at the same spot… me and Ryan built our relationship. But, I mean, him, Lottie, Rico, though, the main three guys that when I first got here, like I said, they coached me up; they stayed with me after practice when I needed help on something. I asked them, can we come to the facility early so you can help me with this, that, and they will be there. As far as off the off-the-field thing, I talked to Ryan a lot about how much sleep he gets. How he recovers? How did he go about things when he went through this?  When he got here, he was pretty young. Just like me, I’m pretty young. We kind of, we got the same situation going on, from Alabama, families and stuff like that. But I talk to him a lot about stuff, and he’s there every time I need him.”

Morgan has pulled in one reception this season. That reception was reeled in and taken in for six.

Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb was asked about his message to Morgan and Derek Meadows earlier this week. Both wide receivers are seeing very limited targets at the moment.

“Well, Germie Bernard was at Washington. He was behind Rome Odunze, Jalen McMillan, Ja’Lynn Polk who were all draft pick players in our offense, multiple thousand yard receivers,” Grubb said. “Just continuing to grow, your time will come and just keep working. His time might be next week, and that’s the thing for all our guys not just the receivers. That spotlight will find them when they are ready, they will be out there in the right moments. Continuing to trust the process and continue to grow as a player, be ready. Cederian and Derek have been excellent practice players, ask questions, they prepare like they are ready to play 50 downs a game or 5 downs a game. So I think for them as young players, just watching the guys in front of them continue to learn and just grow. Because that’s what I think we do a great job with this offense, we do develop players and develop receivers who end up being great players. It’s not always a day one great receiver, Germie Bernard took three years to grow into the guy he was. I think those opportunities will come, and as players develop and move into those bigger roles they will be ready to take on what’s in front of them.”

Morgan is expected to be a key member of the Alabama wide receiver room for years to come.
