LSU Game Big Night For The Tide With Over 50 Recruits In The Stands

Yes there’s a lot at stake for the Crimson Tide this Saturday night in their game with LSU. The obvious is putting Alabama in position to win the SEC West with a win in the this game and a win later this month in Auburn. Then there’s just the rivalry between Alabama and LSU. This is a game of pride, revenge and pecking order in the SEC.
But there’s also another prize for the winner of this game, one that’s almost as valuable as the W in the win column. That prize are the eyes and admiration of near 50 recruits that will be attendance that Alabama are hoping to win.
Though they certainly can’t or won’t sign them all, a win may not be enough if Alabama wants to convince them that this is the only place they could go and play for a title. A close game could win LSU some converts. Alabama needs to win big and grind the LSU Tigers into the Bryant-Denny dirt.
Some of the recruits are solid commitments, some are here just to see a great game and satisfy some curiosity. Some are here from the 2014 signing class and some others are from the 2015 and 2016 classes.
There are lots of five stars and a ton of four star recruits that will be in the stands watching the game and after Nick Saban has spoken to his team in the locker room, he’ll spend a few minutes with the recruits and some of their family members in a special room near the press area before coming in and doing his post game interview.
While the list of players that will come may change right up to game time, Alabama expects 50 to show up and a tentative list of 5 star recruits that are up for grabs include, Tony Brown, a much coveted cornerback from Beaumont, Texas, Marlon Humphrey, another cornerback from Hoover, Alabama, Leonard Fourette, a very talented running back from New Orleans, Louisiana and Raekwon McMillan, a big linebacker from Hinesville, Georgia.
Then there is five star offensive tackle Cameron Robinson, from West Monroe, Louisiana and five star Mekhi Brown, a big defensive end from Columbus, Georgia who have already committed to Alabama. A big win for the Tide could only help cement their commitments even tighter.
But the main thing to remember is that is the Saturday night game that almost all the recruits that aren’t there in person will see on TV. With this being the biggest game of the day and certainly the biggest one in prime time, the audience will also include recruits from far down the future.
Yes, there is a lot at stake in this game and the victory the boys in Crimson are hoping for is just one part of it.
