Pike Road High School’s senior defensive lineman, Malik Blocton, is an Auburn commit, who Alabama is heavily interested in. 

Blocton has had an impressive season for the Patriots. He helped them dominate Stanhope Elmore 52-14 with four sacks on Friday night. 

“This win means a lot because last year we lost to them,” Blocton told Touchdown Alabama. “We’re just trying to get our get back.”

Pike Road lost to Stanhope-Elmore last season 14-13.

Blocton has been committed to Auburn since July. He chose the Tigers for a variety of reasons, including potential early playing time. 

“It’ll give me an opportunity to come in and play, and coach Jeremy Garrett is a really good coach,” Blocton said. “He fits my play style. He treats me like a son. I can come in a play for him.”

Alabama has hosted Blocton a few times this season, and they are building on their good relationship.

“Alabama is a really good program and anything can happen," said Blocton. 

The four-star plans to visit The Crimson Tide again in the future. 

Blocton has been dominant throughout the season and feels he has shown what he can do on film, which has impressed coaches. Now he wants to focus on helping Pike Road win a championship. 

“I’ve shown all I need to show this season, I'm just trying to win a state Championship," said Blocton.
