Alabama football will have two experienced safeties on the back end of its defense in the fall.

Malachi Moore is back for a fifth season as he plays free safety for the first time.

The former four-star in the 2020 signing class was used to playing closer to the line of scrimmage, but he's gotten comfortable being further away. He shares the responsibility of Kane Wommack's vision coverage system in the 4-2-5 with a transfer playmaker from the University of Michigan. Keon Sabb, a New Jersey native, helped the Wolverines to a Big Ten Championship and a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2023.

He brings over 28 tackles, five pass breakups, two interceptions, and a pick returned for a touchdown from his previous school.

The 6-foot-1, 208-pounder played in 14 games last year, but he feels more at home in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Moore told Crimson Tide reporters on Tuesday next fall will be 'fun' for he and Sabb.

"He is a very tough player," Moore said about Sabb. "Very instinctive, rangy, quick, fast, and he can cover. He's really a complete player when you think about it. He has a very high IQ. We have been connecting more and more to build our relationship."

He led Michigan to a national title, but Sabb wants to show he can play in the Southeastern Conference.

The duo of he and Moore could be one of the best in college football.

Sabb is ready to show Alabama fans his skills in Saturday's spring game.
