Alabama football gets positive news for its marquee showdown with the Texas Longhorns.

On Wednesday, Nick Saban updated injuries on three Crimson Tide players in the Southeastern Conference Coaches Teleconference. Alabama did not have linebacker Jihaad Campbell (knee) for its season opener versus Middle Tennessee State, and defensive backs Malachi Moore and Jaylen Key got banged up in the matchup. The Tide earned a 56-7 victory at Bryant-Denny Stadium over the Blue Raiders, but fans were concerned about Moore and Key for the contest against the Longhorns.

Saban said Moore and Key have been able to practice this week.

It will come down to how close they are feeling to 100 percent by game time, which will determine if they play. Moore recorded two tackles against MTSU, but he's also the 'best communicator' and the most experienced player in Alabama's defensive secondary. Key, a transfer safety from UAB, had four tackles and his first career interception for the Crimson Tide.

Campbell, a former five-star, has practiced this week as well.

"He has done fairly well," Saban said about Campbell. "He should be able to play in the game, providing there is no setback."

Alabama will have Campbell, and it is looking like they may have Moore and Key too.

The matchup against Texas is Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CT via ESPN from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
