Alabama improved to 2-0 on the season, after its 37-10 victory over Middle Tennessee State last week. The Crimson Tide’s coaching staff named seven individuals for player of the week.

Running backs Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake were honorees for offensive player of the week. Henry totaled 96 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, netting an average of 5.3 yards. Drake accounted for 202 all-purpose yards and a touchdown in the third quarter.

Defensive linemen A’Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed were honorees on defense. Robinson and Reed recorded five tackles each, leading all defensive linemen. Reed chimed in with a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry last week.

Honorees on special teams were Tony Brown, Maurice Smith and Michael Nysewander.
