It is finally Thanksgiving and while most of us are enjoying a meal, Alabama running running back Derrick Henry was entertaining SEC Network radio host Paul Finebaum and former LSU Tiger Marcus Spears Monday.
ESPN captured a video spanning roughly 4:30 on Henry discussing Alabama’s focus for this year’s Iron Bowl. “It is always a big rivalry with a lot of history. The Iron Bowl is always big,” Henry said to Spears. Auburn will enter Saturday’s game at 6-5, but Henry addressed to both Spears and Finebaum that preparation is key for Alabama.
The Crimson Tide will return defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick and right tackle Dominick Jackson to game action this week. Alabama head coach Nick Saban also is not ruling out a possibility of running back Kenyan Drake (arm) suiting up to play.
Defensively, Auburn will have its hands full with trying to limit Henry. He has rushed for 1,526 yards and 21 touchdowns on 249 carries. The junior has been dominant against elite competition, totaling 1,702 yards (leads nation) with 12 touchdowns.
Henry is a finalist for multiple awards, including the Heisman Trophy.
