It may not seem like it now as the Crimson Tide marks its 8th consecutive season with double-digit victories, but the holiday season has not always been a cheerful experience for the Tide faithful. From bouncing between several head coaches named “Mike” to being disqualified from post-season championships and bowl games, morale was at an all-time low several years ago. That’s until Tide Nation received, what at the time, seemed like a very unlikely gift.
Of course as we now know, this unlikely gift was Coach Nick Saban—obtained by then Athletic Director Mal Moore during the 2006 Christmas season. With it being Christmastime once again, there seems to be no better way to recount Coach Saban’s holiday arrival than by retooling Clement Clarke Moore’s “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
