Just when he was getting back into the flow of practice, another setback occurs.
The University of Alabama learned today that rising junior cornerback Tony Brown is facing indefinite suspension from the NCAA, according to Aaron Suttles of Tuscaloosa News.
Brown, a former five-star prospect from Beaumont, Texas, was already serving current suspensions handed down from Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban. The 6-foot, 195-pound corner was sent home for a violation of team rules, during the week of Alabama’s preparation for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl.
He rejoined the team shortly after and has been active thus far in spring practice.
Brown is currently competing for a spot at corner and Star in the Tide’s nickel package. He could also see some time as a return man, with Cyrus Jones entering the NFL Draft.
He has 26 tackles and a pass breakup through 26 games.
