Report: Alabama OL repairs knee injury

Matthew Emmons- USA TODAY Sports

Richie Petitbon, a four-star offensive guard, was absent at Monday’s practice.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound lineman sustained a knee injury in Alabama’s scrimmage last week, per head coach Nick Saban in a press release. Petitbon is one of few players vying for a contributing role on the offensive line. He was one of five linemen to sign with Alabama from a star-studded 2015 recruiting class.

“He [Petitbon] has undergone a successful surgery with Dr. Lyle Cain in Birmingham and we anticipate a full recovery,” Saban said.

Petitbon, a native of Annapolis, Md., was redshirted as a freshman in Alabama’s national championship run during the 2015 season.
