Athlon Sports names 14 Crimson Tide players to its preseason All-SEC teams

Athlon Sports is one of the marquee college football sites, competing with the likes of ESPN, Sporting News and USA Today among others. It released its 2016 preseason All-SEC teams on Tuesday, with 14 Alabama players claiming spots on the first, second, third and fourth teams.

The Crimson Tide’s 14 members were the most by any school in the Southeastern Conference, while LSU came in second (12). Six players from Alabama’s roster were name as first-team selections.

First Team

Calvin Ridley, wide receiver

Cameron Robinson, offensive tackle

Reuben Foster, linebacker

Jonathan Allen, defensive end

Eddie Jackson, defensive back

JK Scott, punter

Second Team

O.J. Howard, tight end

Tim Williams, linebacker

Minkah Fitzpatrick, cornerback

Adam Griffith, place kicker

Third Team

Bo Scarbrough, running back

Ross Pierschbacher, center

Ryan Anderson, linebacker

Da’Shawn Hand, defensive lineman
