He wasn’t taken through seven rounds of the 2016 NFL Draft, but Denzel Devall always knows a place that he can call home. The former Crimson Tide outside linebacker has joined Nick Saban’s coaching staff as a personnel assistant, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com.
Devall, a former four-star recruit, enrolled at Alabama in 2012 from Bastrop, La.
The 6-foot-2, 252-pound linebacker recorded 25 tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, two pass breakups and six quarterback hurries in 15 games last season. Throughout 49 games (career), he accounted for 83 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, six sacks, 13 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and three pass breakups. Devall would earn Freshman All-American honors from Sporting News in 2012, while contributing to the Tide’s defense as a starter and rotation player.
He played on three Southeastern Conference championship teams (2012, 2014-15) and two national championship squads in 2012 and 2015. Saban will be happy to have him on board.
