TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– More than 30 student-athletes will conclude another chapter of their lives this weekend, as the University of Alabama holds its winter commencement Saturday at Coleman Coliseum.

The Crimson Tide’s football program leads all sporting venues with 16 accepting degrees.

Coach Nick Saban guided this year’s group to an undefeated regular season, a Southeastern Conference championship and the No. 1 seed heading into the College Football Playoff. Of its 16 graduates, Alphonse Taylor, Dakota Ball and Brandon Greene all will obtain master’s degrees. Jonathan Allen, Reuben Foster, Eddie Jackson, Blaine Anderson, Raheem Falkins, Anthony Averett, David Cornwell, Truett Harris, Jake Long, Cole Mazza, Brandon Moore and Josh Palet will all receive bachelor’s degrees. The final member of Alabama’s football family to earn a degree this semester is former legend Marty Lyons. Lyons was part of the Tide’s 1979 national championship team that was credited with a goal line stand against Penn State in the Sugar Bowl.
