TUSCALOOSA, Ala.–Nearly three weeks removed from a Southeastern Conference championship, head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide are faced with another challenge. The Tide returns to the College Football Playoff as the No. 1 seed and will play Washington in Atlanta on Saturday, Dec. 31.
The 4th-seeded Huskies will enter the game as Pac-12 champions for the first time since 2000.
Sophomore quarterback Jake Browning leads one of the nation’s top scoring offense (44.5 ppg), while its defense relies on physicality (37 sacks) and creating turnovers (19 interceptions, 19 forced fumbles).
Despite Alabama being a 15-point favorite over Washington, coach Chris Petersen is known for pulling out upsets in big games. Touchdown Alabama Magazine’s 16 and counting team broke down the contest a week after the SEC title game. All eyes will be inside Georgia Dome at 2:30 p.m. (CT) for the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
