Another former Alabama standout is joining the Tide’s coaching staff.
Nick Perry, a native of Prattville, Ala., is coming onto to Nick Saban’s staff as a graduate assistant, per Matt Zenitz of AL.com. Perry, who played five seasons at Alabama (2010-14), was the Tide’s starting free safety as a redshirt senior in 2014. He totaled 80 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups and two interceptions.
Perry helped Alabama win two Southeastern Conference championships (2012, 2014) and a berth as a semifinalist to the first-ever College Football Playoff in 2014. Despite not being taken through seven rounds of the 2015 NFL Draft, Perry earned two stints with the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles.
