Student Ticket Prices for Football Sure Vary by School
By: Larry Burton
Student ticket prices sure vary by school. If you’re a student of the current national champion, Clemson, you pay nothing to attend football games. The same is true for SEC schools South Carolina and Vanderbilt. But other schools make students reach for their wallets, albeit at a much less price than the public pays.
Looking around the country and comparing to what students pay for season’s worth of games sees big difference. Let’s look at the top 25 schools and what they charge students to buy a season ticket package.
Rank – School – Price for season tickets
25 . UCLA – 125
24. Washington – 135
23. Florida – 140
22. Wisconsin – 144
21. Washington State – 149
20. Kansas – 150
19. Ole Miss – 155
18. Auburn – 160
17. Missouri – 165
16. Nebraska – 166
13. Tie – Iowa – Texas – Arizona – 175
11. Tie – Oklahoma – Michigan State – 180
10. USC – 185

5. Forida State – 240
4. Oklahoma State – 250
3. Ohio State – 252

Now if you’re wondering how the SEC goes, here’s just that list…
14. Tie – South Carolina – Vanderbilt – Free

11. Mississippi State – 50
10. Georgia – 65
8. Tie – Alabama – Tennessee – 70
7. Arkansas – 80
6. LSU – 87
5. Florida – 140
4. Ole Miss – 155
3. Auburn – 160

And there you have it. What students pay to get those valuable student tickets. But in the interest of educating you even more, student tickets at Alabama have an additional feature that sometimes used when students want to bring a non student guest to the game. Student tickets may be upgraded to student guest tickets for $90 and will still be in the student section, either upper or lower deck, where ever the original student ticket was to be used and like all student tickets, it’s first come first served as to seating.
Lastly, I’ve been asked if the band has to pay for student tickets? The answer is no. Neither do cheerleaders, SGA Student Organization seating, NCAA athletes, and Capstone Men, Women and of course we folk in the press who may have the best seats in the house with lots of perks such as free food and drink, internet, television replays and more. Sooner or later we’ll be getting into meatier articles, but in this “lull”, it’s our intention to bring you stories you won’t see elsewhere to fill the void.
