Recapping Brian Daboll’s play calling, production from QBs and WRs from A-Day

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll turned in a strong first impression last week, as he assisted quarterback Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa to 616 passing yards combined and five touchdown passes during Alabama’s spring game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. His play calling not only helped both signal callers account for 300-plus yards, but it also produced huge numbers for wide receivers.

The trio of Calvin Ridley, Robert Foster and Jerry Jeudy each totaled 100 yards receiving, while Jeudy led the entire position group with five catches – 10 targets – for 134 yards and two touchdowns.

Yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine was live today on The Way It Is, recapping Daboll’s offensive scheme and the fluidity of the Crimson Tide’s passing attack on A-Day.
