The tight end position has completely evolved in the realm of college and pro football.
For a long time, tight ends were used as additional blockers. Nowadays, we are seeing more of this position group stretched outside and possesses the hands and speed of wide receivers. Stogner, a native Texan, has the ability to run routes and catches passes in traffic. Despite only getting a bigger percentage of targets in marquee games, O.J. Howard proved that Alabama is willing and able to get tight ends involve on offense.

The blocking skills he learned at the Capstone didn’t get unnoticed by NFL scouts also.
Neither ESPN nor 247 Sports has Stogner ranked among the 2019 recruiting class, although 247 has him listed as a four-star target. Let’s not forget that he’s only a sophomore and can grow over the next season in height and weight. Alabama may have joined the party late in scouting Stogner, but Saban and his staff typically find ways to land some of the best offensive talent in the nation. Currently, Stogner has 15 offers.
