Houston Griffith is a four-star recruit according to both ESPN and 247 Sports.
He is currently attending the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., the perfect place to improve your game if you play any position. Breaking up passes is one of the most valuable part of Houston’s game.
He is able to make a break on the ball at any with incredible quickness. If he is not able to break up the pass; he is going to lay a massive hit on the attended receiver. The 6’0″ 186-pounder is able to play a bump ‘n’ run style coverage as well as play several yards off. He has the size to play cornerback, but you can see him playing pretty much any position in the secondary.
Nick Saban has no problem with trying defensive backs in different spots to see where they fit. Minkah Fitzpatrick is one of the most recent beneficiaries of Saban attempting to get the most out of his defensive backs. Fitzpatrick is now considered one of the most versatile players in the country.
SEC schools Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Tennessee have already offered Griffith. Experts are predicting Ohio State to be the front runners for Griffith at this point, but with Alabama joining the mix today it is going to be hard seeing Alabama not become a major player in Griffith’s recruiting.
Only time will tell where this elite corner will land.
