Ryan Anderson: Redskins’ Practices Not as Rough as Alabama’s

Cedric Mason - Touchdown Alabama Magazine

He is not the first former player to say these words after turning pro, but Washington Redskins’ linebacker, Ryan Anderson, reinstated the belief once more. After a few outings of fall camp had taken place, Anderson was asked about how his time at Alabama had prepared him for the intensity of training camp.

“[Alabama] practices there were a little bit rougher than here,” Anderson explained. “We do a lot of banging around there. It definitely prepared me mentally and physically for this grind I’m doing now.”

Anderson was a second round pick by the Redskins this year and is expected to do great things in the professional ranks at outside linebacker. During his final season in Tuscaloosa, he accounted for 61 tackles, including a staggering 18.5 tackles for loss along with 8.5 sacks. Known by many for his mastering of the strip sack, Anderson also forced four fumbles in 2016.

After Jonathan Allen inexplicably fell to the Redskins in the first round, the selection of Ryan Anderson brought the Crimson Tide duo back together to wreak havoc in D.C. just as they did in Tuscaloosa. It appears that time in Tuscaloosa has paid off already. Watch the whole presser here:
