RB Eddie Lacy hits another target weight goal, pockets $55K from Seahawks

Joe Nicholson - USA TODAY Sports

Nothing beats the feeling of losing weight and getting paid.

When Eddie Lacy signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks on March 14, the deal came with an incentive. After weight issues limited his production at Green Bay in the last two years, the goal for Lacy in Seattle is to meet all seven weigh-in requirements from May to December in order to earn $55,000 for each one.

He hit the target goal for May (255) and June (250), and his success continued on Monday as Lacy remains at 250 pounds – collecting another $55K via ESPN.com writer Sheli Kapadia

According to Field Yates of ESPN, Lacy’s weight incentive requires him to be down to 245 pounds for the months of September through December in order to claim the last four $55,000 installments. A former University of Alabama standout, the Louisiana native is expected to bring the same intensity to Seattle in the run game as Marshawn Lynch did before going to Oakland.
