Alabama freshman linebacker Dylan Moses suffers foot injury, out indefinitely

Christopher Hanewinckel - USA TODAY Sports

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Add another name to the University of Alabama football injury list, and with the timing this one comes in, it is almost a backbreaker for Crimson Tide fans.

News was first report via Matt Zenitz of AL.com on freshman linebacker Dylan Moses, citing sources that the Louisiana native sustained a foot injury in Monday’s practice

The information was confirmed in a statement from head coach Nick Saban.

“He will be out indefinitely,” Saban said of Moses.

Medical mishaps to a multitude of players, including Christian Miller, Terrell Lewis, Shaun Dion Hamilton and Mack Wilson among others positioned Moses for playing time.

Moses, a five-star prospect and No. 5 on the ESPN 300, had a standout season in which he collected 30 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. His 11 tackles, including four stops for loss and an interception, versus Mercer on senior day was a career-high.

Despite earning Southeastern Conference All-Freshman honors, Moses could potentially miss the College Football Playoff with this injury.

Alabama now depends on senior Rashaan Evans, sophomore Mack Wilson and redshirt junior Keith Holcombe for its matchup against Clemson.
