First reported by AL.com’s Michael Casagrande, former Alabama star cornerback, Marlon Humphrey, was arrested this morning on counts of 3rd degree robbery.
Humphrey, son of Tide legend Bobby Humphrey, had a solid three-year career at Alabama and chose to forego his senior season. That decision turned out to be a great one as he was then a first round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in last year’s NFL Draft. With his Ravens knocked out of post-season contention, it appears Humphrey had returned home.
Third-degree robbery is classified as a Class C felony in Alabama, and indicates that he allegedly “used force” or “verbally threatened the intent to use force” towards the victim. His bond was placed at $2,500.
UPDATE 11:10 AM: Humphrey may have accidentally taken an Uber driver’s phone charger, who went on to press charges.
From a good source with knowledge of the situation, they are saying that Marlon accidentally took a phone charger from an Uber driver’s car when he got out and now driver has filed charges. May be more info coming but this is what we are hearing right now.
