Alabama has landed the No. 1 cornerback in the nation, Patrick Surtain Jr.
Surtain was one of the most heavily recruited defensive backs in this class. Almost every power 5 school wanted this outstanding talent. He is the son of Patrick Surtain Sr., former NFL defensive back.
The Florida native is a huge get for Alabama. He can play in many positions in the secondary and is very scrappy. He jumps at any position to take the ball away and when he does you better watch out.
He also doesn’t mind coming down to help in run support.
Alabama made the secondary a huge priority in this recruiting class and it shows. One could honestly say that this recruiting cycle has been a success for Alabama in terms of the secondary. They need some young players that are ready to play in the secondary and they have some guys that could do that.
