Breaking Down Antonio Alfano

Antonio Alfano will announce his commitment today at 2 p.m. central from Colonia High School. He is down to Alabama, Georgia and Penn State. If Alabama was to land him, it will be the Tide’s 13th commit in the 2019 recruiting class.

Alfano is a 4-Star defensive end out of Colonia, New Jersey and is one of the top defensive ends in the nation. Here is a break down of what this guy would bring to The Crimson Tide if he was to choose them.

Alfano stands at 6-feet-4-inches and 275 pounds. He has experience at playing on both sides of the ball, which makes him knowledgeable of what makes a great offensive lineman. When he is used as an offensive tackle, he uses his hands to get inside defensive linemen chest and get great position to push them out the play completely. He attempts to do the exact opposite on the defensive side of the ball. He knows how to use his hands to prevent lineman from getting the best of him. He sheds blocks with the best of them.

The New-Jersey-native is also fast and athletic enough to spy the quarterback in certain occasions. Defensive lineman that can do this in today’s game are very valuable. They can help keep athletic and shifty quarterbacks contain.

His huge frame makes tackling a breeze. Ball carriers know that once a guy like Alfano gets a hand on them, it is pretty much over.

This tweet was posted by Alfano on Thursday and Alabama fans hope that he is talking about the business of winning as Alabama has made winning a must during the Saban era. Touchdown Alabama Magazine will keep you updated on Alfano’s decision.
