John Metchie Talks Alabama Official Visit.

The wide receiver position is one that is filled with questions for Alabama during this recruiting cycle. Many feel that this is due to the talent that Alabama has on the roster at wideout as well as a lack of elite wide receivers in this class as a whole. Fortunately for the Tide, there are some great ones out there and they got the opportunity to host one of them on last weekend.

4-Star WR, John Metchie, took his official visit to the University of Alabama, which lasted from Friday to Sunday. Metchie feels that the visit went well.

“The visit was great,” Metchie said. “I really love how the bought in the players are and how they all are hard working.”

Alabama was looking to make a huge impact on Metchie during his official visit. He got the chance to see Alabama’s entire package while in Tuscaloosa.

“I got a chance to tour everything,” Metchie added. “I even got a chance to spend plenty of times with coaches and players.”

The Tide became a huge player in Metchie’s recruitment after they offered him, which was a clear result of Metchie’s connection with wide receiver coach, Josh Gattis. Metchie referred to the offer as a dream offer. Gattis’ former school, Penn State, hosted Metchie on June 8 and it looks as if the Nittany Lions and the Tide are the two top teams at the moment, but Metchie just wants to take a step back and evaluate everything.

“I’m not really sure yet,” Metchie said. “I just want to let this visit settle and talk about it with my family.”

Alabama would love to add this elite talent and they have shown that. We will have to see how much of an impact this official visit made on his decision in the future.
