Kirby Smart Needs to Have a Come To Jesus Meeting With…

Kirby, Kirby, Kirby… Didn’t all your years with Nick Saban teach you anything? Do you mean to tell me that in all those years with Nick Saban, you didn’t learn to sit down with every freshman coming into the program and have a come to Jesus meeting with them over tweets, snapchat, Facebook and other posts?
If you did, then you seriously need to sit down and have a very serious come to Jesus moment with your star running back, your super recruit freshman who tweeted the dumbest thing he could short of admitting to killing someone.
Take a look at this tweet from one of the most sought after running backs from the last recruiting class who looked like an LSU pick up until he suddenly chose Georgia at the last second. The player is John Emery Jr., a Louisiana native.
It has since been removed.
He didn’t say he was hacked afterwards, so now folks will wonder if there’s any fire now where this young idiot certainly set off a smoke bomb.
If he was just joking, he is an idiot. If he’s telling the truth, he’s an idiot. If he didn’t know this would create the sort of talk that could bring the NCAA snooping, he’s an idiot. So in any scenario I can see, maybe LSU was better off not signing an idiot.
How much blame now will folks put on Kirby’s lap for having a player put up such a tweet, whether it’s true or not remains to be seen. While Kirby’s success buys him a lot of rope, there are folks in powerful positions at Georgia who will wonder why Smart hadn’t sat down his freshman and already had a come to Jesus moment about posting on any social / public media and what to do and what not to do.
I guarantee you that if that hasn’t already been done, it will be by this time tomorrow. I’m sure that Marshall Malchow, the Georgia director of player of personnel that he said gave him the sacks of cash will also want to have a word with Mr. Emery.
Then he said this…

And then posted this….

Make what you will of all of this… But I’ll bet you that a lot of coaches will show this to their players this week and show them what stupid looks like.
