According to a source at AL.com, former five-star recruit Eyabi Anoma has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Anoma, who was apart of the Crimson Tide’s 2018 signing class will now be the third player in two days to enter the portal. UA now has a total of five players entering the portal which includes defensive back Kyrique McDonald, long snapper Scott Meyer, offensive lineman Richie Petitbon and quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Anoma appeared in five games this season and recorded nine total tackles.
During Alabama’s preparations for the college football playoff, Anoma had missed a practice which was described as “a personal day, I guess to sort some things out,” head coach Nick Saban said at the time.
Originally ranked as the number three overall recruit in ESPN’s top 300 and the number one ranked defensive end. The product of Baltimore Maryland’s St. Frances Academy, chose UA back in 2018, after visiting schools like Maryland and Michigan.
The transfer portal was created back in October of last year and allows student-athletes to simply enter their name into a database and wait for other teams to reach out to them. Players may also withdraw their name from the portal at any time.
