Marvin Gentry - USA TODAY Sports

Alabama’s “Third Saturday in October” rivalry gives Crimson Tide fans its wish.

The program will have its first night game of the season versus the University of Tennessee inside Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 19. An announcement came from the Southeastern Conference’s front office on Monday, as television networks and times were announced for matchups that week.

ESPN will have the call for Alabama-Tennessee at 8:00 p.m. CT.

Since 2007, the Tide has won the last 12 meetings versus the Volunteers under Nick Saban.

Alabama leads the series, 56-38, with eight ties in 101 meetings.

Tennessee’s last win over the Tide came in 2006 by a score of 16-13.

Despite a rough start for Jeremy Pruitt in his second year as head coach, the Vols will look to bring some type of challenge to Alabama.
