PODCAST: UA’s second half fight versus LSU may have saved its CFP hopes

If it would have shut everything down upon trailing LSU by 20 points, the College Football Playoff committee would not even stomach the idea of Alabama being one of the top four programs in the nation. Due to its fight in the second half and only falling by five, the CFP committee has a decision to make on Tuesday as to what it does with the Crimson Tide.

A few players on offense and defense gave it their all – including Tua Tagovailoa, Najee Harris, DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, Anfernee Jennings, Xavier McKinney and Christian Barmore. Despite the outcome not being what the team desired, one has to appreciate the mentality shown to fight through the adversity that happened last week.

On Monday, yours truly was live on In My Own Words via Touchdown Alabama Magazine to give my final thoughts on the matchup. Although I was disappointed in the final result, a list was provided on the players that I felt emptied the tank.

Alabama has to convincingly defeat Mississippi State this weekend, but the passion shown by the team was very encouraging.
