Nick Saban loves 4-Star LB, Ian Jackson’s, versatility

Alabama 2021 LB commit Ian Jackson

Alabama extended an offer to 2021 4-Star linebacker, Ian Jackson, Saturday during its Junior Day event.

Jackson currently attends Prattville High School in Prattville, Alabama. The Tide is just one of the teams, who have offered Jackson during his recent recruitment boost. The Prattville product now holds a total of 19 Division 1 offers.

The 4-Star recruit was notified of his latest offer by Nick Saban.

“My family and I met with coach (Nick) Saban and they offered me,” Jackson said. “He loves my versatility and the fact that I can play inside or outside linebacker. It was a great feeling when I found out. We had a great time yesterday, getting to know staff members and players.”

Touchdown Alabama did express Jackson was a recruit to watch out for before Alabama’s Junior Day.

Jackson had a chance to see multiple portions of Alabama’s football program Saturday, which included touring some of Alabama’s facilities, but Jackson’s biggest takeaway was the education plan Alabama has in place for their football players.

“It speaks for itself when you see all their championship trophies, rings and NFL draft picks,” Jackson added, “The one thing that stuck out to me is that they have a plan for every player to graduate college in 3 to 3.5 years.”

The Prattville product is still open to all schools at the moment but does plan to cut his list down in a couple of months.

“I am still open as of now since I am getting ready to focus on my high school baseball season,” Jackson said. “I will cut it down around April or May when spring training starts.”
