His mustache is iconic, but his coaching is even better.
Alabama fans hope that Nick Saban can land Aaron Feld as the program’s next strength and conditioning coach, in the departure of Scott Cochran. Although he played at Mississippi State University, Feld is an Alabama native.
He is from Homewood (Ala.) and has spent time at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Alabama and University of North Alabama, as a guru of conditioning.
The two years he spent at Oregon were the most impressive.
He helped the Ducks become a force on defense, allowing 16.5 points per game in 2019 and winning a Pac-12 Championship.
Oregon had 41 sacks (Kayvon Thibodeaux, nine) and 20 interceptions through 14 games.
If not for a loss to Auburn, Feld and company would have made the College Football Playoff.
His peers view him as one of the best at his position, and he is in tune with the analytics of today’s game. Regardless of losing to Alabama in the CFP National Championship Game to start 2018, Feld helped Georgia to the playoff in the 2017 season.
