Whether it was injuries, communication issues or a mixture of both, Alabama was not itself defensively in 2018 and 2019. The Crimson Tide missed the College Football Playoff last year for the first time since the inception of the era in 2014. While many placed the blame on Pete Golding at defensive coordinator, one former Tide player offered a fresh perspective on things.

The two-time Southeastern Conference Champion and CFP National Champion (2017) attributed the issue to a lack of ‘discipline.’
