Mel Kiper has Tua Tagovailoa to the Dolphins; ESPN analyst ‘shocked’ at how good he looks in workout video

Brian Spurlock - USA TODAY Sports

The latest piece of evidence for Tua Tagovailoa’s case to be a top-five pick came Monday night in a video on Instagram.

As he was training with Trent Dilfer, the former Alabama quarterback was fluidity shifting his feet, manipulating the pocket and firing passes at an indoor facility.

Despite it being only 10 seconds long, the video has national media in a frenzy.

On ESPN’s Get Up, Mel Kiper Jr. has Tagovailoa as his second quarterback taken at No. 5 overall to the Miami Dolphins next month. This has been the case throughout the draft process, even though the Dolphins have been looking at other options. Former NFL signal caller and current ESPN analyst, Dan Orlovsky said he was shocked by how good Tagovailoa looks.

He said the former national champion had the “sudden quickness” that he possessed with the Crimson Tide and stated that Tagovailoa is in a “good place mentally.” The footage of Dilfer and his pupil now sends a chain of events to the NFL.

Miami holds the cards, however, teams such as the Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Redskins and Detroit Lions are in play.

Upon him sustaining a dislocated right hip with a fracture to the posterior wall, the fear was if Tagovailoa would be able to walk again.

He is doing much more than that, as the native Hawaiian anticipates performing at a very high level in the NFL.

Dilfer stated that whoever selects Tagovailoa will ‘win the draft.’ We shall see which team rolls the dice on him.
