Some clarity has been provided on why Markail Benton’s name kept disappearing from Alabama’s football roster.
On Thursday, Nick Saban spoke to reporters via teleconference and announced the linebacker has been suspended from the team. Benton, a native of Phenix City, Ala., came in the 2017 recruiting class and is currently a redshirt junior.
The 6-foot-2, 235-pounder has totaled 33 tackles in 23 career games – including 19 tackles last season.
When asked about a new update on Benton, Saban responded with ‘nothing has changed.’
Benton arrived as a four-star from Central High School.
