Wrong information was leaked out, in terms of Wonderlic tests results for two quarterbacks in this year’s NFL Draft class.
Despite Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama making a 13 on the test in 2018, ESPN’s Laura Rutledge reported that he made a 19 on the exam at the NFL Scouting Combine. Jalen Hurts, a former Alabama and Oklahoma signal caller, had a grade of 18 on him yet Albert Breer of NBC Sports Boston has the real score.
Hurts actually made a 21 on the Wonderlic.
So this is actually correct. I’m told Oregon QB Justin Herbert did score a 39 on the Wonderlic at the combine in Indy. Here are a few more QB scores from Indy that were higher than reported …
Jake Luton: 33.
Brian Lewerke: 30.
Jalen Hurts: 21.
Tua Tagovailoa: 19. https://t.co/jg78XFYGtd— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) April 18, 2020
Regardless of both guys still falling below the average of 24, Tagovailoa and Hurts were much closer to the mark than what was originally reported. While teams will manipulate the information as they see fit, Dan Marino (15) and Jim Kelly (15) of the Pro Football Hall of Fame both scored below the average. Lamar Jackson made a 13 on the test, but was the Most Valuable Player of the league in 2019.

Tagovailoa and Hurts are looking forward to hearing their names called next week.
