He did not approve of the draft grade he received this year and he’s ready to display his worth as an undeniable first-round pick. Instead of turning pro and risk becoming a day two selection, Najee Harris decided to return to the University of Alabama for his senior season.
He was magnificent in 2019, totaling his first career 1,000-yard rushing campaign.
Harris posted six 100-yard games – including four versus Southeastern Conference schools and ended the year with 1,224 yards and 13 touchdowns. After starting the season as an exceptional receiver out the backfield, the former five-star found his stride as a powerful runner against Louisiana State University at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Despite a 46-41 loss, Harris pounded the Tigers for 146 yards rushing and totaled two scores. He would also go over the century mark versus Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn and Michigan (Citrus Bowl).
The Crimson Tide’s coaching staff sold the California native on this season being his moment to be the focal point on offense.
Harris intends on seeing his carries, yards and touchdowns increase, as he wants a shot at the Heisman Trophy, Doak Walker Award, Maxwell Award and All-American status.
