Amarius Mims pushes up his commitment date

Alabama’s 2021 5-Star offensive tackle target, Amarius Mims, announced he will push up his commitment date to Aug. 15 Sunday via Twitter.

Alabama has been in a good position with Mims for more than six months now. At the Future 50 Media Day Event in Orlando, Florida in December, the Georgia product expressed the Tide was one of the schools he had the best relationship with. Mims was able to get to Tuscaloosa the following month in January, which proved to be a vital visit since recruiting restrictions were put in place two months later.

Mims was originally set to announce his commitment in October, but now it looks as if his commitment will come before his senior season. It is safe to assume the Tide is still a major player in his recruitment.

The 6-7 300 pound lineman is an athletic prospect, who will most likely play offensive tackle at the next level. He knows how to keep his feet up under him when blocking and continues to block down the field and get to the second level.

The Tide currently has one offensive lineman commit in 5-Star offensive tackle, JC Latham. The Brockermyer twins, Jager Burton and William Parker along with Mims remain high on Alabama’s offensive linemen board.
