Next week will be the Alabama-Georgia matchup, but Saturday is important for Pete Golding.

In facing a former Nick Saban assistant that looks to be the first to defeat him, Golding has been the topic of conversation for Crimson Tide fans on social media. Lane Kiffin will throw everything at Alabama’s defense; however, will Golding be able to combat it? This is a question that fans have, seeing as Kiffin is a crafty offensive mind battling a young defensive coordinator.

The contest was going to be interesting without rain, but the weather does make it interesting.

Before dealing with the Bulldogs, supporters of the Tide want to see its defense communicate well, play effectively, make secure tackles and limit big plays from Mississippi’s offense.

For a group that is averaging 38.5 points per game, Ole Miss is one to attack the slightest defensive weakness. Alabama has improved from last year; nevertheless, there are a couple of things (mental errors) needing to be fixed.

Fans want to trust Golding, but they also want to see a complete game from the defensive unit.

On Wednesday, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine started In My Own Words with one question: What does Golding have to do versus Ole Miss to make fans feel comfortable with him?

Do Alabama fans trust Pete Golding?

As I took an attempt to answer the thought myself, everything else is left to the fans.

He has a major challenge versus Kiffin this weekend.
