Jalen Hurts is in Miami supporting Alabama for CFP National Championship

Jalen Hurts runs off the field in celebrating a win for Eagles in his first start

Alabama football fans will forever claim Jalen Hurts as their own.

He may have finished his collegiate career at Oklahoma, but he earned his degree from the University of Alabama and was a starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide for two seasons. During those two years, he set records, won games, displayed incredible leadership and showed Tide fans the fun of having a dual threat quarterback.

In his third year, he grew to be a very solid passer — despite being a backup.

He paced the Tide to a pair of Southeastern Conference titles, including one in 2018 where he came off the bench for an injured Tua Tagovailoa and guided the team to a 35-28 comeback win. He was also on Alabama’s 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship team.

Hurts has done some great things for the Philadelphia Eagles and looks to take the franchise to new heights.

With the CFP title game on Monday night, the native Texan is in Miami (Fla.) supporting his Alma mater. Nick Saban always referred to Hurts as a great competitor, and now one of the biggest ambassadors of the Crimson Tide is looking forward to cheering on his former head coach to a seventh national title.

ESPN will have the call on Alabama versus Ohio State at 7:00 p.m. CT from HardRock Stadium.
