Alabama is beginning to make serious ground on filling out its coaching staff.
Sources have informed Touchdown Alabama’s Stephen M. Smith, that the Crimson Tide are expected to hire North Carolina’s running backs coach Robert Gillespie to the same position.
Gillespie has been with the Tar Heels for three seasons and has also served as the running backs coach for Tennessee from 2013-17 where he worked with former Alabama recruit Alvin Kamara.
He will be stepping in to replace Charles Huff who recently became the head coach for Marshall.
It will be the third major hire head coach Nick Saban has made in the past few weeks as former Texans head coach Bill O’Brien was named the team’s new offensive coordinator and former Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone is expected to be the team’s new offensive line coach.
This post will be updated.
