He was having a great week, but Mac Jones has suffered a minor setback in Mobile, Ala.
According to Joe Person, a reporter for the Carolina Panthers via The Athletic, Jones rolled his left ankle in Thursday’s practice at the Reese’s Senior Bowl. Before the situation happened, the former University of Alabama quarterback and 2020 College Football Playoff National Champion was putting on a show at Hancock Whitney Stadium. He impressed NFL scouts and media pundits with his accuracy, ball placement, ability to process information quickly, and his mobility within the pocket.

Jones said his availability for Saturday’s game will depend on how he feels. He may not suit up for the exhibition; however, Crimson Tide fans have seen the Heisman finalist tough it out in moments of adversity. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Jones has everyone talking about him being a first-round selection. He could be the second or third quarterback taken off the board.

Hopefully, he will be okay to compete in the Senior Bowl. Nevertheless, he has done enough at this point to cement his value.
