He blessed college football with his performances in 2020, but Najee Harris is a bigger inspiration for the youth.

While fans of Alabama football were glued into National Signing Day on Wednesday, a young Crimson Tide fan showed his appreciation for the Doak Walker Award winner via Twitter.

In wearing the No. 22, he displayed his best impersonation of Harris hurdling a defender.

With a phone cord stretch in between two chairs, he hurdled the cord, grabbed his football, and jumped over the cord again. Harris perfected his hurdle through four years at Alabama, so he takes joy in the next generation emulating him.

During the regular season, Harris and his teammates reached out to Braxton Weidman — an 8-year-old boy from Birmingham that is battling a brain tumor. Harris and Weidman became friends and in Alabama’s matchup against Ole Miss, the superstar running back dedicated his performance to Weidman.

Harris recorded a career-high 206 yards rushing with five touchdowns in the Tide’s 63-48 win over Mississippi. He remains in contact with Weidman and his family as the young fan continues to battle.

Harris finished last season as a Heisman finalist and an All-American.
