Alabama has only offered five tight ends in the 2022 recruiting class and one of them is set to announce his decision this week. Elijah Brown will announce his verbal commitment Friday, according to his Instagram story.
Brown is a product of Wayne High School in Dayton, Ohio. The Crimson Tide extended an offer to him in July. The Ohio product said he loved Alabama’s winning tradition when the Tide offered him.
“I was super excited when I found out,” Brown told Touchdown Alabama in July. “I love how consistent they are at winning. They are always in the top five or the top three or close to winning a championship. They are always in the playoffs, I like that a lot.”
The Tide’s coaching staff told Brown they liked his athleticism and his willingness to get dirty when blocking.
Brown currently stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 240 pounds. He has experience lining out wide and is a decent route runner. Brown displays physicality when pulling in the football and when running with it.

Alabama signed one tight end in the 2021 recruiting class along with Caden Clark, who signed with the Tide in the 2020 recruiting cycle and took a grey shirt. The Tide have continued to search for hybrid tight ends, and Brown is hybrid, who would be a nice addition to Alabama’s 2022 class.
