On Thursday, the University of Alabama finalized the hire of Jay Valai as its cornerbacks’ coach.
He takes over for the departed Karl Scott and brings experience and energy to the program.
He played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin (2007-10) and twice made second-team All-Big Ten. Valai operated his own sports performance facility from 20011 to 2016, where he trained professional athletes as well as high school athletes.

Since then, he has served in defensive coaching roles at collegiate programs and in the National Football League.
In his arrival to the Crimson Tide, Valai intends on fostering continuity, winning championships, and continuing Alabama’s success in recruiting.
On Monday, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine reacted to the news of Alabama getting Valai.
I broke down the three things that he brings to Saban and the school.
