In the famous words of Nick Saban, “speed kills on the football field and the highway” and there is no better on-field representation of that than Jaylen Waddle. The Texas native has been constantly praised for his explosive athleticism and speed that has awarded him the slot of being one of the top receivers in the upcoming NFL Draft.
The current version of the league is enriched with these types of skillsets but whenever any analyst brings up the conversation of speed, the first name out of their mouths is Kansas City Cheifs wideout Tyreek Hill.
Just by looking at Waddle the comparisons to Hill are unavoidable and his former Alabama teammate Najee Harris is making sure everyone knows about it.
“He’s small but he’s dynamic,” Harris said on The Adam Schefter Podcast. “He’s explosive. Really really explosive. Closest thing to Tyreek Hill. You gotta see him in person, how he plays how he gets in and out of cuts, how he stops and goes 60 right away.”

Despite missing seven games with an ankle injury, Waddle was still able to show flashes of dominance in his final year with the Crimson Tide. He finished the year with 591 receiving yards, 557 of which came in the first four games of the season along with all four of his touchdowns.
He is projected to be a top 15 selection in this upcoming draft and if he is able to be 70% of the player Hill is, that will be enough for teams to jockey over Alabama product.
