Alabama football has its first offensive lineman off the board, and it’s Alex Leatherwood.
The 2020 Outland Trophy winner was taken at No. 17 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Leatherwood is a solid pick for the Raiders.
He will now block for Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. He blocked for a 1,400-yard rusher in Najee Harris, but the native Floridian is headed to be productive in Sin City. Leatherwood also brings the Raiders a firm pass protector for Derek Carr at quarterback. He was a two-time national champion at Alabama, and Leatherwood is excited to get to Las Vegas.
