Competition is nothing new at the University of Alabama especially when it comes to open starting roles. This season the Crimson Tide are looking to fill one of its spots in its secondary and one young player gunning to get himself on the field is freshman defensive back Ga’Quincy “Koolaid” McKinstry.
During Alabama’s spring game, McKinstry worked with the second-team defense as redshirt sophomore Jalen Armour-Davis was slotted to be the starter for the game.
This positioning didn’t foil McKinstry’s play as he turned in an impressive day with three tackles and an interception.
McKinstry isn’t done proving himself as the Crimson Tide will once again evaluate the position when this fall comes around. But until then Koolaid has been putting in work with defensive back trainer T.j. Heath.
Check out McKinstry’s workout below.
