KJ Jackson put together a stat line that most high school quarterbacks would be proud of as a freshman for Saint James School.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder used his raw athleticism and untapped potential to make a difference as a passer in a run-heavy offense as a freshman. Jackson finished the season with 1,300 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. His impressive first season of high school football caught the attention of some of the top college football programs in the country.
Ole Miss, Penn State and Alabama State have extended offers to the Montgomery, Alabama product. Ohio State, Notre Dame and Auburn are just a few of the top Power 5 programs showing interest.
“They all like my pocket presence,” Jackson said. “I am pretty sure my size is the first thing that stands out. Everyone loved my size as a freshman and just that I can ball.”
Jackson has a strong arm and was able to show some next-level ball placement during his first-year varsity football. The sophomore said he learned a lot from playing last season.
“At first, I did not know how things were going to end up,” said Jackson. “Then I figured, just let the game come to me, be calm and slow the game down. I felt like consistency was the biggest thing for me.”
